Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge
Comprised of 48,000 acres, the Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge is a collection of woodlands set northwest of Brooksville in northern Mississippi.
Established in 1940, the refuge offers hiking and wildlife viewing – as the area is known for beaver, otter, white-tailed deer, American alligators, and over 250 species of birds.
The observation platforms at Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge are also great for spotting wildlife. The best views of the refuge and of Loakfoma Lake are from the Morgan Hill Overlook, while the Bluff Lake Boardwalk allows visitors to access the cypress island.
