Meridian Museum of Art

Located in the historic Old Carnegie Library building, the Meridian Museum of Art is set  in downtown Meridian in central Mississippi. Museum visitors learn about the area's art and its artists, through the museum collections, exhibits and art education programs.

Meridian Regional Airport

Established in 1930, the Meridian Regional Airport has serviced Meridian and central Mississippi. This civil-military airfield began with a dirt runway, hangar and terminal and was operated by Al and Fred Key.

They also operated the Key Brothers' Flying School from the airport. The Key's successfully flew a Curtis Robin monoplane, named "Ole Miss", for 27 days without stopping. They made 435 mid-air refueling contacts and traveled 52,320 miles. The "Old Miss" is on display in the National Air & Space Museum, in a permanent exhibit.

Visit Key Field, to view the Key's hangar and offices, listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The 186th Air Refueling Wing of the Mississippi Air National Guard operates cargo and aerial refueling aircraft from its home base, at the airport. The majority of the airport traffic is for general aviation use, although one commercial airline offers flights from the airport.

Whynot Motorsports Park

The Whynot Motorsports Park features a dirt oval track near Meridian in central Mississippi. The track hosts weekly Late Model Series, UMP Open Wheel Modified, Street Stock and Mini Stock races. Bring the family to the track for a night of fun at the races.
